We love our pups.
We've had Emma since whe was 3 months old (we've almost had her a year!) and we've had Oliver since October. At first things were great with the two dogs but slowly they started fighting. And not just roughing around fighting. Fighting with the intent to hurt, fighting. Yeah. Not good. And sometimes really scary. Hence the Time Out's that they often get. Mostly for safety.
We've worked with a trainer and with different techniques to curb the bad behavior but it hasn't gotten better. Basically, we're all stressed out. Emma is stressed because Oliver is here (she's usually the instagator). Oliver is stressed because he's scared of Emma. And Mike and I are stressed because our dogs don't get along.
Separately, our dogs are wonderful. Seriously. They are fantastic and we love them both so much! But we recently decided that it would be best for everyone if we found Oliver a new home. Hardest decision ever. Seriously...I have cried a lot about this guy. He's special.
So, this weekend, he's going on a sleepover to see if it'll work out with another home. I hope it does. That guy is the coolest and deserves to be in a stress-free home. But it's hard. And I *might* be crying as I type this. I so wanted it all to work out. But it's really for the best.
Oh no! I'm so sorry you're going through this right now!! I was going to make a cute comment about their pillows... fine I will. They're cute. But back to Oliver, that's so hard! I wish you both the best transition in all of this!!

oh, sarah, i'm so sorry! i saw hints of this on instagram, but i didn't know the whole story. we had give our last dog up, too. he was such a little cutie, but had WAY too much energy for apartment life. we took him to training classes, had him wear a weighted backpack and sent him to doggie day care. what he really needed was a big yard to run around in. it was the hardest thing ever to give him back to the rescue group, but now he has an acre of land to run around in. good luck with oliver! xo
