1. On Wednesday I went with my friend Emily to the R.E.M. Tribute Concert at Carnegie Hall. Not necessarily because I'm an R.E.M. fan because I'm not really. I mean, I like a few songs here and there. But it was because of the line-up of artists that were going to cover R.E.M. songs, namely: Ingrid Michaelson, Glen Hansard, Rachael Yamagata, Fink, Rhett Miller, Dar Williams and Guster. The BEST was, of course, Ingrid who sang Nightswimming. It was amazing! She sang it the night after at a NYC concert (that I didn't get to go to) but check it out:
2. I went to Park Slope with friends Shauna, Keila and Vanessa on Saturday to visit this Children's Craft Fair (we missed hanging out with Candice & Co. by a few minutes...our trains were slow/late). It was fun! I love craft fairs. Especially because I got to see my friend Diana of Wonder Threads and purchase a few of her insanely cute kidswear.
I mean, how cute is this?
3. After the Craft Fair we headed across the street to this yummy Mexican restaurant called Maria's Mexican Bistro. It was really good and they had awesome guac. Seriously. Like better than Rosa Mexicano's I think. I got the chicken tostado's. Yum.
4. On Friday night, Shauna and I decided to go check out a Mormon dance in Queens. It makes me want to sing "Dance In Queeeeens!" instead of "Dancing Queen." Again, proof at how awesome I am. Anyways, it was kinda lame so we headed back to our turf (aka Manhattan) and played tourist in Times Square and I snapped a few pics. Here's one:
7. Guess who we saw on the F train last night?
8. If you want to see some awesome and amazing photos taken in NYC by my bestie Candice Stringham, then check out her blog because they are too cool. I can't wait to see the rest of them!
9. I failed to mention that R.E.M. was actually at the concert in their tribute and then came out at the end for a surprise song. Which I didn't recognize. And was ruined by Patti Smith (sorry...I'm just not a Patti Smith fan...). But I did get a few pics of Michael Stipe on my super zoom:
10. I get to go home tomorrow morning at the bright and early hour of 3:30 in the a.m. Well, I'm leaving that early so I can catch my flight in enough time. Missing my flight at Christmas has tainted me forever. I'm soooooo excited to go home and see my peeps!
Later,
Sarah ;)
As much as I love "Shiny Happy People", the Sesame Street version "Shiny Happy Monsters" is way better. Way. And not just because I've seen it like a million times. Really.

Losing My Religion is, to me, classic REM.
