I had a great idea last week: I should make dinner!! Great idea, right? Well...sort of.
Mike's mom had commented that we go out to eat alot. And we do. We pretty much eat out every day. Like...every...day. So, I decided to look up some recipes, went shopping and put together this uber fancy schmancy meal!
I always have high expectations for my cooking abilities. Not sure where that comes from. I blame food blogs. It turned out ok...and at least I tried. Ha.
1. Turkey Burgers
I've never made Turkey Burgers before and these were good--they would've been better had I been a better cook (i.e. had a bigger kitchen, wasn't so frazzled, and defrosted the ground turkey better).
2. Garlic Oven Fries
I didn't have parchment paper (or Pam for that matter) and they were stuck pretty seriously to the cookie sheet I cooked them on. But all in all, they tasted really good.
3. Pesto Mayo
Ok, so you're supposed to have a food processor or at least a blender to make this stuff and...I have neither. Soooooo...it's a lot more chunky then it's supposed to. The flavor was good and I imagine it would've been awesome had it been made correctly. It was just awes.
The only real downside to this meal is that everything had garlic in it. Everything. I like me some garlic, but this was a little much. So, keep that in mind if you decide to make a better version of this meal (which wouldn't be hard to do).
