I ordered it as soon as I saw that it was available (via @erikmarinovich on Instagram) because not only do I love me some hand lettered type (especially amazing sepcimens like this) but I love a great John Hughes quote. This week's Freebie Friday are a few fonts I created!
I made them using the iFontMaker app on my iPad (which, it turns out, is super fun). You must try it out! It's kinda fun creating stuff using fonts I've made:

I know I mentioned a while back that I designed some cards for Kelly Purkey's December Daily Kit but I just got some of my very own in the mail today! So, I thought I'd share the whole set (so you can see what you're missing...as far as I know the kits have sold out).
It was super fun to design and it was a delight to do something for my bestie, Kelly. So so great. I hope those of you who have them are enjoying them!!
I has been snowing all day. And most of yesterday. And pretty much all weekend. It's lovely...from inside my house.
Emma and Oliver, however, need to go outside a handful of times each day. Emma loves it! Oliver...does his business and then stands by the door. Poor guy. I've been thinking about getting him a coat. And maybe some boots.
But I love, love, love seeing their snowy faces when they come back in. It's adorable.
Not only am I in love with the inside of my house, I love the outside. I have a little porch where I can put some decorations which is fun. I love creating a welcoming entrance for when friends and family come over. It's super simple but I love it.
If I were given the opportunity, I would stay inside and watch Christmas movies the entire month of December. Seriously. So, I thought I'd share a few of my favs (and yes, 3 of them involve Muppets).
1. Christmas Eve on Sesame Street: My family had the record growing up so we know this show by heart. I love, love, love this and have been watching it since I was very little (I think it came out in 1978).
2. Miracle on 34th Street: I like this newer version better than the old one. Sorry. And even though it has a Kenny G song in it, I still love it.
3. The Muppet Christmas Carol: This movie is adorable. And Gonzo and Rizzo are quite the storytellers. We grew up on the Muppets so they are always a part of my family during the holidays.
4. Elf: Well...who doesn't love this movie? No one. Ever.
5. The Family Stone: I love how real this family feels. This movie always makes me cry. Always. Never fails.
6. Scrooged: Billy Murray + A Christmas Carol (+ Bobcat Goldthwait) = Awesome.
7. White Christmas: One of my absolute favs. I want to live in that Inn. And dance with Danny Kaye. I'm betting on neither happening (for obvious reasons) but a girl can dream.
8. The Holiday: So cute and sweet and completely suspends reality. Perfect.
9. A Muppet Family Christmas: This movie is hard to find. But I so love it when all the Muppets (including Sesame Streeters and Fraggle Rockers) all come to Fozzie's Mom's house for Christmas. So great.

I love the idea of Christmas cards mostly because I love getting Christmas cards. And now that Mike and I have two children dogs it wouldn't just be a photo of the two of us (which is no different from engagement-type photos...year after year). Also, I chose to do a postcard because I AM LAZY and didn't want to have to deal with envelopes. Don't hate. Postcards are fun!
So, super last minute I decided that we would take our photos in my craft room in front of the chalkboard wall. I took some sample shots with just the black wall thinking that I would add some text in Photoshop later. But then I had a *somewhat* crazy idea and just started doodling. Christmas style.
The end result:
I'm not gonna lie and say that this is made up of one photo where everyone looks almost perfect. It's 3 photos put together through the magic of Photoshop. That's what happens when you include dogs in your pics. They move. Fast. Not to mention they were timer pics and holding a 20 lb dog for more than 1 minute gets tiring.
But I love the result and am glad we have something to send out to friends and family this year!
We had a little Housewarming Party this last weekend. Yes, we moved into our house in August. But better late than never, right? It was fun being able to show our house in Christmas-mode to friends and family who hadn't seen it yet. And it was a good excuse for me to design an invite:

I really do love Christmas! And decorating! So it was fun having peeps over before the seasonal activities took over. And I'm loving our new house in pretty much every season (so far). Comfy and cozy are we.
