Sweater // Forever21
My lovely husband came home the other day and said something along the lines of, "I was going to surprise you with this on Valentines...but we're going to Paris." Um...what now? You guys, I have never been to Europe and had thought that going was a ways off so to hear this was a shock. To say the least. I *might* have cried. Especially when he added that we'd also take a few days and go to London. I have been dying to go to London for yeeeeeears. Look out Downton! We're coming to see you!
I can't wait for April to get here. Springtime in Paris? Yes, please! If you have any suggestions for anything, please let me know! Thanks in advance!!

Paris is fun! As is London! When in Paris look for this tiny restaurant in the Rue Jarente, Les Bougresses.. It's really cute and the food is good.. When in London, be sure to check out The Folly (http://www.thefollybar.co.uk/):-) Have fun!

Sarah! What a fun surprise! My best suggestion is to do a hop on/hop off bus tour for both Paris and London. It's a great way to get a feel for the city and then decide what you want to spend the rest of your time doing. Oh, I have so many ideas...I'll email you. So excited for you!

Weeeeeeee! That is so exciting! I tried encouraging Joe to take me a while back, ...but he is SO not European at heart. The bum. Basically, that is so awesome of your husband. Super points. Can't wait to hear all about it!

I was searching for blogs for 30-somethings and found yours. At first, I saw the photos of your dogs and fell in love instantly! I have a lab and beagle myself. But then I saw that you were going to Paris. And in the spring too! I was there in the spring of 99 and I must say, that is THE best time to go there. It's not so cold anymore but you can still wear your gorgeous jackets and look as fashionable as the Parisians. Don't forget to people-watch while sipping cafe au lait in the outdoor cafes. Also, if you can, visit the countryside by train - the view is breathtaking! You might also like looking in the churches for the different architecture if you're into that sort of thing, as well as the gorgeous gardens of Versailles. Visit the Louvre, Tour Eiffel and Notre Dame Church. I am so envious! I wish that I can visit France again soon. Bon voyage!

If you want the best, most amazing, breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower, take the metro and get off on the Trocadero exit and turn left (I think...). Then prepare to be amazed!
PS - so sorry about Oliver. It's incredibly hard giving up/losing pets.

Hi! You absolutely MUST eat at L'avant Comptoir. It's a little hole in the wall place with the most delicious food EVER. Order the foie gras in a macaron, the fish mash potatoes and the breadless sandwich. so delicious. My parisian friend took me there!

We did Paris and London in the spring of 2008. I have lots of suggestions that I'd be happy to share if you want them. Just drop me an email! So jealous, btw.

SOOOO excited for you.
Paris:
- Get tickets ahead of time online if you want to take the elevator up.
- Def go to at least the gardens at Versailles. They will be amazing in April! And I liked seeing Marie A's cottage and grounds better than the actual palace.
London:
- Do not waste your time with the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. So not worth it and sooo crowded.
- Stonehenge was actually super cool
- Seeing as how you are a huge P&P fan. If you can, I highly recommend going north (by train for the day or over 1 night) to the town of Disley to see Lyme Park (Pemberley from BBC vers). It is gorgeous and the countryside is amazing. I heart the town of Disley so much too. So cute and such nice people and the BEST cornish pasty I ate in England at the Village Bakery there. You can't miss it if you go.
