Party of One Book Club : Wuthering Heights

You guys...this book took me a while to get through. Not because of the style of the language (although anything that Joseph character said, I pretty much skipped over...I had no idea what he was saying) but because of the characters. I don't think I liked anyone in this book. Sorry fans of Wuthering Heights. But I did it. I finished it!

1 Year Ago...

...we picked up Emma from the airport after she flew in from San Antonio, TX to join our family! She was almost 3 months old and was to-die-for adorable. She is still the cutest and we love her like crazy. Happy Emma-versary to us!



P.S. OLIVER UPDATE: He is spending the week with a family on a ranch to see how it goes! We dropped him off yesterday and I think he will have LOTS of fun! Cross your fingers--they seemed like such a great family and we know he'd be very happy there.

Girls Soundtrack, VOL 1.

Whether or not you watched the series Girls, I highly recommend getting the soundtrack! It's really good! Some of my favs are:

And since I've been listening to this, I was reminded how much I love Dancing On My Own (and it reminds me of good times with KP), so I threw this together.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Do you ever feel like this?

On the one hand, I'm super glad that I have things to do! Really, I am. Having design work to do is pretty damn awesome. But on the other hand, I'm still trying to work out this work-from-home lifestyle and I get overwhelmed pretty fast and have a hard time making a schedule for myself.

Any and all tips will be accepted. Not the monatary kind, the verbal kind. Many thanks.

Seriously, one of my favorite phrases to say..."Ditch the bangs."  

Card Addiction

I hope I'm not alone in this, but...I'm addicted to buying cards. Mostly letterpress cards but really anything that is cute and catches my eye, I will buy. And now that we have a Paper Source...oh my goodness...I'm just glad it's a 30 minute drive to get there or else I might need help. Or maybe I already do.

I'm also wishing I could go to the National Stationery Show again this year--Kelly and I went last year and it was so fun seeing all these cool companies gathered in one place. I wasn't showing or buying but it sure was fun to see all that amazing paper goodness.

Update on Oliver

I thought I'd do a quick update on our finding a new home for Oliver. This is a very difficult thing for us and we are trying to find a perfect fit for our buddy. He's gone on two sleepovers but both didn't work out for different reasons so we're still looking. We've also placed a local online ad for him that you can see here (written by Mike because heaven knows I would not have made it through with dry eyes...although I don't think he did either).

I know that some of you know what this feels like and I really do appreciate all your sweet comments. Seriously. I so do. This is one of the hardest and emotional things I've ever had to do. He is so close to my heart that I can't help but cry thinking about losing him. He is the best and we love him so much. He has a few "special needs" so we know that it's a little trickier finding him a home. But we're hopeful and have a few leads. I'll keep you posted. Again, thanks so much for your concern. It means so much. :)

Craft Room

I was asked by the French scrapbooking magazine Esprit Scrapbooking if they could include my craft room in an article on craft spaces in their mag. Of course I said yes! How cool is that? So, I spent a day last week taking photos of my space and tried to get Emma to model for me...just for fun...for me...not her. I think she was mostly uncomfortable as this is the best shot of her I got. Tyra would be disappointed.
